Southeast Boat Modelers, Atlanta, Georgia

Water is back, fountains are running, new bathroom facility 80 feet from the picnic table with new drinking fountains, more parking, new landscaping, a charcoal grille and electrical outlets on the exterior of the bathroom for our use.

No Dues, No Pressure & No Problems!    Visitors are always welcome!

Our informal group run a variety of craft from Submarines to Scale to Fast Electrics. There is no telling what you might see when we get together. (Powered boats must be electric, due to lake restrictions.)

Only small fast electrics are allowed running a speed limit of about 20 mph due to park rules to protect persons fishing or the local wildlife. These are Zig-Zags, Crackerboxes, smaller Ready-To-Run kits. Larger fast-electrics are invited to visit the Atlanta Model Boaters at the Naturally Fresh Pond near the Atlanta Airport where excessive speed is welcomed!

Directions to T. W. Briscoe Park

BriscoeMap.jpg (76084 bytes)

Address is 2500 Sawyer Parkway, Snellville, Georgia 30078. Just Southeast of Pate Lake.

From I-285 go east (outside the perimeter) on Hwy. 78. Take 78 east past Rockbridge Road where 78 turns into a parkway rather than an expressway. About 6 miles after Rockbridge you'll get to Highway 124 (Scenic Highway) where you turn right and stay in the left lane. Turn left at the first light onto Henry Clower Boulevard and then turn right on Lenora Church Road. Briscoe Park will be on the left in about 1.3 miles. Turn left onto Sawyer Parkway into the park.

Briscoe is on the left about one mile south of Snellville. The park has three entrances. Enter at the Southern-most entrance between the lake and the nursing home. The Lakeside Pavilion is the first on the left. We will be in that area, before the pavilion, usually near a picnic table.
