Our informal group run a variety of craft from Submarines to Scale to Fast Electrics. There is no telling what you might see when we get together. (Powered boats must be electric, due to lake restrictions.)

April 13 (Saturday) 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM - Lake Hartwell Antique Boat Festival. See some really choice antique boats. If you are coming to play with RC boats, plan to arrive no later than 9am. This is at Hartwell Marina, Lake Hartwell. Approximately 2 hours from Atlanta. Lake Hartwell Antique Boat Festival. http://www.hart-chamber.org/events.php Not an official club meeting. That will be next weekend.  A few of us will be demonstrating some fast electrics and running a fleet of (donation-optional) rental boats. We may have a few boats on display. Bring a table, chairs & shade if you require. Chris Gierszewski is our point of contact. Please email Chris if you plan to attend. Some of these antique boats are worth over $100,000.00 and they wouldn't appreciate a hole in one of them. Scale boats and submarines are appreciated.

Sept 28 - 29 (Saturday & Sunday) St. Louis Regatta  Tentative date. St. Louis Admirals Club Regatta in Saint Louis. One of the larger mid-west events. Only a 9 hour drive from Atlanta! http://www.stlouisadmirals.com/
October 19 (Sat) 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Regular Meeting. Regular meeting at Sweetwater Creek State Park.
November 16 (Sat) 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Regular Meeting. Regular meeting at Sweetwater Creek State Park. Might be a bit cool this day. Free Hot Chocolate will be served!
Indoor meeting in February. Let us know if there are any boat-building skills you want demonstrated. Bring your winter projects for show & tell. More details soon.

RC Scale Boats - Episode RCH-304

Next showing: August 12, 2005 10:30 PM and August 13 1:30 AM Eastern Standard Time

In this episode, Chris Chianelli features the Elliot Bay Steam Launch, from Midwest Products©. This small scale boats runs on a steam-powered engine. Everything needed comes in the kit and the boat can be built over a weekend. Also on this episode, Chris highlights other popular scale boat models including: Midwest Products' PT-109©, Midwest's Down East Lobster Boat©, Horizon Hobby's Fishing Trawler©, and an electric tug boat from Vac-U-Boat©. The in-studio portion of the episode demonstrates how a steam engine works and how to assemble the steam engine in the boat. Then Chris visits a scenic lake just outside Atlanta, Georgia where members of the Southeastern Boat Modeler's Club join in for a scale boat regatta.
