Rental Tug  /  Rental Towboat

Thought about adding a rental concession to your museum? Would you like to have long-running low-maintenance boats for guests or students?

12.5 hours of continuous (full-power plus continuous rudder movement) use on one battery. Days of "stand-by" time (Assuming 80 mA receiver+ESC draw while sitting idle.)

It can be done! It has been done!

Here is a ballast test of a standard Vac-U-Tug Jr. with our new battery system installed. Rental1.jpg (24527 bytes)
Note the rear water line is just where it should be. Rental2.jpg (24889 bytes)
The bow waterline is right in the middle of the keel curve. Rental3.jpg (17394 bytes)
Four ounces of ballast are still needed in the stern. Rental6.jpg (34387 bytes)
All ballast removed from the bow. Rental7.jpg (15940 bytes)
Trim the motor tray and install the optional battery tray with Velcro strips. Rental9.jpg (29476 bytes)
Now install the battery. 9,500 mAh NiMH 6-cell custom pack. Put your speed control between the steering servo and the receiver.  Rental10.jpg (36361 bytes)
Nice and clean on the inside. Perfect ballast and waterline on the outside. This tug can go for MILES. Rental11.jpg (36004 bytes)

The weight of the tug, receiver, ESC, and Servo equals 30 ounces. Install the 34 ounce battery. Total weight will be 64 - 65 ounces, the original stock gross weight for the tug.

Batteries are in-stock. Ask me for more information.
